Dacula High School offers gifted classes in most subject areas at every grade level. Advanced Placement classes are available to all highly motivated students in many subject areas. The Quest Internship, an off campus class in which students work directly with a mentor in the business or professional work place, is available to junior and senior gifted students. The procedures for identifying and placing students in the state funded gifted program are governed by rules and regulations approved by the State Department of Education. Referrals to the gifted program may come from teachers, parents, peers, or as a result of system-wide testing scores. Evaluation of the student's mental aptitude, achievement, creativity, and motivation is completed by the school's gifted eligibility team. Private evaluations and testing may not be substituted for test data generated by the local school.

The Gwinnett County Public Schools gifted education program serves students in grade K-12 by providing academic challenges for those who are intellectually advanced. The gifted program is called FOCUS at the elementary level, PROBE at the middle school level and Gifted Program at the high school level. Any responsible person who has knowledge of a student's intellectual abilities may refer a student to local school's gifted referral committee.

The classes offer accelerated learning and enriched academic curriculum experiences that focus on and extend Gwinnett County Public Schools' Academic Knowledge and Skills. Students are identified and placed in gifted education based on criteria established by the Georgia General Assembly and the Georgia State Board of Education. Students who transfer from out-of-state must meet Georgia requirements. Parents notify the school when registering their child that he/she was identified as a gifted education student in their previous school.
