Student Aid Report Last Changed

If students complete their FAFSA online and use their PIN to sign it, they can check the status of their FAFSA about one week after submitting it. If students printed, signed and mailed the signature page, they can check the status of their FAFSA approximately two to three weeks after they mailed the signature page.

The Student Aid Report (SAR) lists the information reported on the FAFSA. If no additional information is needed, the SAR will contain a student’s Expected Family Contribution (EFC).

Each school listed on the FAFSA will also receive an electronic copy of the student’s SAR. Colleges use this information to determine a student’s aid package.

When your students receive their SAR, they should review it carefully to make sure it’s correct. If they need to correct any information, they can submit their corrections electronically via Corrections on the Web,provided they have a PIN. If students do not have a PIN, they can write the correct information on their SAR and mail it to the address provided on the SAR.
