Dacula High School's Peer Leadership Program consists of Peer Leaders who are chosen through a highly competitive selection process to work towards the betterment of Dacula High School, and the Dacula community. Peer Leaders have received training in interpersonal skills. problem solving, and conflict mediation. They apply these skills in formal and informal settings, working with younger students and peers, targeting various areas of interest or need within the community.
Members of this group not only perform a minimum of 50 hours of community service each year, they alsp coordinate service initiatives specifically designed to encourage others to participate as community service workers.
In addition to service-oriented projects, peer leaders use their skills to work with individuals and groups of students (small and classroom size) helping with academics, social, and personal problems. Peer Leaders also tutor other DHS students for peer tutoring in classroom or one-on-one settings.
Dacula High School's Peer Leaders have greatly benefited from the positive influences in their lives. The Peer Leadership program gives them a unique opportunity to sharpen their skills and to instill their own positive influence in their school and community.
